THE SOULKICKS

The Soulkicks are a high energy soul, funk and rock n roll band based in Toronto. The quality of their sound combined with their explosive live show makes The Soulkicks one of the best nights out you can have in the city. People come to see The Soulkicks to let loose, dance and appreciate the combined talents of some of Toronto finest musicians. The Soulkicks balance musical ingenuity with energy and style that appeals to audiences of various musical genres and tastes. There is a a bit of what you like running through every Soulkicks set and that’s what gives the band its appeal. With the wide ranging powerful raspy vocals of their charismatic frontman Sean Byrne combined with the energetic live sounds from the stage,  The Soulkicks have a well-earned reputation of creating a highly charged atmosphere where the crowd just kick back and become a part of the musical experience. From Toronto’s best live venues to festivals to private functions, The Soulkicks have such an expansive repertoire that they can step into any atmosphere, engage with a crowd, catch the vibe and fill the dance floor with a couple of bars of some of the most recognized tracks ever released. Too often live music can be a touch contrived and bland, the difference is The Soulkicks, bring what the audience demands to the table, then they just krank up the sax and bass and take it back to The Oldschool the way you like to remember it.

RUNNING RED LIGHTS DUO

RUNNING RED LIGHTS DUO

'Born into a space between the notes of Fleetwood Mac and the words of Sylvia Plath'. Running Red Lights was established in 2006. Migrating from small towns all across Eastern Canada to the swelling city of Toronto, Kevin Howley, David Puzak, Jeff Carter and Scarlett Flynn assembled together as a pop oriented, female fronted group under the control and direction of well-established traditionalists with crumbling ideas. The band found themselves caught between 2 worlds, eventually weathering the collapse of the old guard and struggling to navigate and adapt to the new age of social media, DIY and the ever changing economics of the music industry. Despite what at times felt like creative and career pandemonium, the band has numerous accolades to their credit including the 2009 independent release of their first self-titled EP in collaboration with Juno winning producer Gavin Brown (Billy Talent/Metric/Midway State). On New Years Eve 2010 as winners of the YouDiscover Concert Series RRL made their national television performance debut on ET Canada to a viewership of 2 million in the company of Canadian Icons Barenaked Ladies, Great Big Sea and Kardinal Official. In 2011 in collaboration with Orange Lounge Records RRL released their second EP 'Life Below the Red' and in June of the same year entered and won the Kensington Sound Annual Songwriting contest. Running Red Lights has performed in concert with Canadian rockers The Trews and Grammy winners The Counting Crows and have been featured in top clubs and Festivals in Canada including Canadian Music Festival, North by North East, Juno Festival and Sarnia Bay Fest. Running Red Lights debut album 'There's a Bluebird in My Heart' released January 2014 to a sweep of praise from music journalist and bloggers from all over the world. The album was added and featured on CBC and BBC Radio. The leading single 'Mulberry Love' was named #1 Song of 2014 via NY Blog Given and Taken in Ink and the popularity of the song allowed the band an appearance on the nationally televised Canada Am. As career artists they have toured all over Canada into America, across the sea to Ireland, Scotland, England and Wales. In the spring of 2017 the band committed to the ’Chasing La Luna West Coast Canadian Tour’ and has most recently wrapped a month long residency at the iconic Cameron House in Toronto. In 2018 the band will release their sophomore album titled ‘I.M.U’ in collaboration with Juno Winning artist/producer Byram Joseph, producer Devon Henderson and producer/songwriter Robyn Dell Unto. PHIL HOOD & THE EXCLAMATION

Phill is an award-winning singer/songwriter and performer from St. John”s, Newfoundland. Since moving to Toronto in 2003, he has been blessed to have shared the stage with many of the city”s most talented musicians!  Having grown up in rugged Newfoundland, Phill was exposed to Celtic music and culture at a very early age, but did not truly embrace it until he left his homeland to study music in Toronto and started to miss the sounds that reminded him most of home. Having honed his craft in many a dark pub, Phill quickly found himself in a network of similar minded musicians as he began to craft a sound deep rooted classic rock, power pop, with subtle maritime and Celtic roots. Phill Hood and The Exclamation (Phill Hood!) is the culmination of years of writing and playing. Backed by a 5 piece band, the Exclamation are a harmonic force to be reckoned with!
