RUNNING RED LIGHTS

to May 31

RUNNING RED LIGHTS

'Born into a space between the notes of Fleetwood Mac and the words of Sylvia Plath'. 2018 Canadian Songwriting Contest Winners Running Red Lights have come a long way since 2006. Originally assembled as a pop oriented, female fronted group, the band found themselves caught between 2 worlds, eventually weathering the collapse of the old guard while adapting to the new age DIY and the ever changing music industry. Despite what at times felt like creative and career pandemonium, RRL went on to release a number of EP’s between 2009 and 2012. The band became a prominent part of Canada’s growing live music scene and in 2010 out-rivalled some of Canada’s top indie bands to become the winners of the Youdiscover Live Music Concert Series. The band went on to perform more than 100 shows a year, touring all across Canada and Europe. Running Red Lights debut album ‘There’s a Bluebird in My Heart’ released to a sweep of praise from music journalists all over the world. The album was featured on CBC and BBC Radio. The leading single ‘Mulberry Love’ was named #1 Song of 2014 via NY Blog Given and Taken in Ink and the popularity of the song allowed the band an appearance on the nationally televised Canada Am. In the early part of 2018, after 2 years in the studio, the band finalized material for their soon-to-be released sophomore album, ‘I am You’. Readied with a revised Indie Pop sound RRL entered and placed in the IMFSTA Songwriting Competition, won the Canadian Songwriting Contest and placed in the top 5 of the national Slaight Music/Hidden Pony Records ‘It’s Your Shot’ competition. Running Red Lights first single ‘Songs of Blue’ quickly caught the attention of music blogs and Spotify playlists with one blogger commenting ‘…they’ll need a radio edit because if there is any justice this song will be huge’. www.twitter.com/rrlmusic www.facebook.com/runningredlights

PAUL MCCANN (10:00 - 2:00 AM)

$10 Admission - At the Door St.Arnaud - Edmonton, AB At 24 years old, Ian St.Arnaud found himself to be an old hand on the festival performer circuit, a University graduate, an accidental overdose survivor, and at a loss for what to do with himself next.
